Miniatures Auction
Saturday 24 March 2012
Somerset House School, Somerset West
Auctioneer: Richard Ferguson
This year (2012) the Auction will once again take the same format. The date, as you can see above, will be 24 March, which is a Saturday and the venue will be the same - Somerset House in Somerset West. Richard will once again be our auctioneer, and once again, we hope to have exciting submissions to auction.
The forms will be sent out in the first week of January. It is time to start making, if you have not already.
Closing date for receipt of items is midnight on Saturday 18 February. Put it into your diary now. As usual, we ask that items be sent by courier, counter to DOOR, unless you can deliver them yourselves. If you plan ahead you can keep your costs down by combining with someone else.
Whilst you have your diary out (you DO, don't you?) please dairize orders for picnics to be in by Wednesday 16 March.
This web site will be complete, with all items submitted, by 24 Feb. one week after items are due in.
There will be free wine available during the auction and snacks for sale. After the auction there will be picnic lunches available for sale so you can then enjoy the beautiful grounds of this school. As usual there will also be a small fair after the auction.
Viewing times before the Auction will be from 08h00 to 10h00 on the Saturday morning of the Auction. The Auction will commence at 10h00 and finish at lunch time whereafter the Fair will start.
If you would like to ensure that you always receive information about this and future Auctions please send us your details. If you would like to receive the forms to submit an item or if you would like us to reserve a catalogue for you or if you would like a sales table for after the Auction, please contact us.
So as to encourage out-of-towners, we have made the Miniatures Convention, which is held in Betty's Bay, the 4 days immediately after the Auction. So you can fly down for the auction and then on the Sunday come to our very own South African Miniatures Convention.
Here is the Convention website:
